FAQ

DPC is an innovative new healthcare structure that eliminates the restraints that insurance companies bring so patients can have a more direct relationship with their physician. With this model, we do not bill or even accept your health insurance. That means no copays for any of your visits, no unexpected health bills, and no insurance-based limitations on how a physician can treat you.

You do not need health insurance to be a patient of Dr. Margjoni’s. Even if you have insurance, we do not bill health insurance for any office visits, patient communication, products, or services provided.

Yes. Although we do not bill health insurance at LIV Medical, we are not a substitute for insurance. We encourage all patients to carry health insurance in case of emergency or unexpected medical complications that are outside the realm of Dr. Margjoni’s management (such as unexpected surgeries, specialty procedures, referrals to specialists, etc). Most patients choose to have a low monthly payment, high-deductible healthcare plan or some choose to have a cost-sharing plan.

Your monthly membership covers office visits, as often as they are needed, as well as telemedicine, texting, emails, etc with your physician. The only time you will pay an additional fee is for heavily-discounted labs (if needed) and medications, as well as some in-office diagnostics or procedures. In office procedures such as wart removal, joint injections, pap tests, skin biopsies, COVID/influenza/strep testing will be charged for only the cost of the material goods, cost of the medicine being injected, or the lab cost/pathology. We believe in transparency in medicine and we will always tell you ahead of time if there will be any additional charge.

At this time, we do not accept Medicare.

At this time, there is no sign-up fee to join. There is only a $150 re-enrollment fee

We cultivate lasting relationships with our patients but we understand that sometimes we may not be the best provider for you and your needs. There are no tricky long-term commitments with your membership. If you feel like this is not for you, please let us know at least 30 days in advance if you need to cancel. There are no cancellation fees.

There will never be a copay for your office visits, telemedicine visits, phone calls with your provider, or emailing.

Our office has contracted prices with Labcorp and Quest to offer affordable out-of-pocket labwork. For example, a complete blood count is only $4! Images will be ordered as medically necessary and your physician will guide you on the cheapest options available to you. Some patients choose to use their health insurance for imaging services if needed. If your medical care is complex or complicated, you will be referred to different specialists as needed. For these reasons, we recommend keeping a health insurance plan to use for specialist referrals, complex diagnostic testing, and surgeries.

Absolutely! We see patients ages 12 and older. Please view our membership fees to find which plan works best for you and your family.

Absolutely! Your physician is available via email or text for non-emergent questions during business hours. For URGENT matters, you may call your physician and they will get back to you as soon as they can. For matters that cannot wait, you should seek emergency services. We try to be as available as possible during business hours.

Your physician will always give 1 to 2 months notice if they will be out of the office. There are many issues that your physician can still control via text message, Telemedicine, email, or phone calls (for urgent matters). There will be times when your physician is not available and you may need to use the local urgent care or another healthcare facility.

In today’s medical system, physicians often see close to 20 patients or more per day (or 4-5 per hour). This is often why office visits unfortunately feel rushed and you may only see your provider for 10 to 15 minutes. Most patients are often left feeling frustrated and have more questions than answers. A physician’s total patient panel is also usually around 2,000 to 3,000 patients. This often leads to difficulty obtaining appointments within a reasonable time. With DPC, you have unrushed 30 to 60 minute visits with your provider to discuss your health concerns. You also have the ability to text, email, and call your provider directly during business hours.

By having members pay a monthly membership, we are able to keep our patient panel low, so we can be more accessible to our patients and provide high-quality care. This allows us to offer you unlimited appointments and communication with your physician.

At LIV Medical, we strongly believe in preventive care through lifestyle habits, nutrition, sleep, and mental health. Our goal is to make our patients healthy and we want to be there for you if a problem arises.

At LIV medical, we do not offer or prescribe controlled medications for chronic pain management. We will help you coordinate your care with a pain management specialist. We also do not provide prenatal/pregnancy care. We will make sure you are in the right hands, however, and will refer you to the right specialists.
